Training With Pelvic-Floor Symptoms: Get Assessed First

In short

If you leak, feel heaviness or have other pelvic-floor symptoms during exercise, the first step is a women's-health physiotherapy assessment, not more training. We are fitness coaches, not clinicians. Once assessed, we coach general fitness safely within your physio's guidance across KL and Selangor.

Leaking a little when you jump, cough or lift, or a feeling of heaviness or dragging down below, is common, especially after having children. Common does not mean you should just push through it, and it does not mean it cannot improve. But the honest first step is an assessment by a women's-health physiotherapist, not a trainer guessing.

We are upfront about our lane. We coach fitness; we do not assess or treat pelvic-floor problems. So if you have these symptoms, we will help you get to the right physiotherapist first. Once you have been assessed and have a plan, we coach your general strength and fitness safely alongside it, nothing that works against what your physio is doing.

Why assessment comes first

Pelvic-floor symptoms have different causes, and the right response depends on which one you have. A women's-health physio can actually assess what is going on, where a trainer can only guess. Getting that clarity first means your training helps rather than quietly making things worse.

Symptoms worth getting checked

If any of these show up with exercise or daily life, it is worth booking an assessment before loading up.

  • Leaking urine when you cough, sneeze, jump or lift
  • A feeling of heaviness, bulging or dragging in the pelvis
  • Pain or pressure during or after exercise
  • Symptoms that started or worsened after childbirth

How we coach once you are assessed

With your physio's guidance in hand, we build your general fitness in a way that respects it, choosing exercises, positions and intensities that do not provoke symptoms, and progressing only as things improve. Many women train well and confidently once they have that clarity and a coach who works within it.

Private, judgement-free, close to home

This is a sensitive topic, and one-to-one private sessions mean you never have to discuss it in a crowded gym. We coach at our Putra Heights centre or your home or condo gym across KL and Selangor, and we always keep your physio's advice front and centre.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you fix my leaking with the right exercises?+

We are not clinicians and do not treat pelvic-floor problems. A women's-health physiotherapist assesses and guides that. Once you have their plan, we coach your general fitness safely alongside it.

Is a bit of leaking normal, so I can ignore it?+

It is common but not something you simply have to live with, and pushing through can make it worse. Please get assessed by a women's-health physio; we are happy to point you in the right direction.

Should I just do lots of pelvic-floor squeezes?+

Not necessarily, for some women that is wrong or incomplete. That is exactly why assessment matters. We follow your physio's specific guidance rather than a generic online routine.

Can I still train while sorting this out?+

Often yes, with the right exercises and intensities that do not provoke symptoms. We coach conservatively within your physio's advice and avoid anything that triggers leaking or heaviness.
